Recording
(Interviewing Mary D., Donegal, about her family's emigration to the United States)
Since 1992 up to the present day Glenn Cumiskey has been involved in a programme of audio and video field and studio recording of storytellers, singers, musicians and dancers, some in multiple sessions. This has resulted in over ten thousand recorded performances being made availible to the general public through the offices of the Irish Traditional Music Archive and other linked organisations.

The Irish Oral History Archive hopes to take advantage of this huge wealth of experience and cultural contacts in beginning its documentation of the Irish emigrant experience in Britain.
Recording will be on both digital audio and audio-visual formats including Flash Card, CDR and DVCAM (Digital Video Camera) recording. All Archive field recordings made will be transfered to a suitable archival medium initially to preserve the performances for future use and enjoyment.
